A detailed breakdown of software and hardware tech that I use.
This was inspired by Wes Bos’s uses page and also the “directory” he created uses.tech
Hardware / Desk Setup
- I currently use a 2019 16” Macbook Pro 2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9, 1TB drive with 16GB memory
- I use my Macbook in clamshell mode with a Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 49” Super Ultrawide & a Loctek Monitor Arm
- ZSA Moonlander Keyboard
- Apple Magic Trackpad between both halves of my keyboard
- 1.8m Locktek Standing Desk - Electric
- Caliber Gaming Chair - Purple of course.
- Sony WH-1000XM4 Noise Cancelling Headphones
- Microphone is a Samson G Track Pro
Software & Apps
- My editor is Neovim with LunarVim as it’s got sane defaults that’s easy to cusomise.
- I use Operator Mono for my editor font - Yes, the cursive version!
- TokyoNight as my theme (Tokeeeyoooooooo - kudos if you get the reference)
- Used to run Dracula, but needed some change in my life.
- Tmux as my multiplexer
- Yabai with SKHD for managing my windows
- iTerm2 with ZSH and Oh My Zsh
- Moving to Alacritty soon. Just have some issues with keybindings I’m sorting out.
- Karabiner-Elements for app specific shortcuts
- My browser is Arc from The Browser Company
- I use Obsidian for note taking.
- Raycast as my launcher.
- Emoji picker - Rocket.
- Loopback and Audio Hijack by Rogue Amoeba for managing my audio sources.
- I have a Setapp subscription for a range of apps, the most common are:
- CleanMyMac
- Sip - for color picking
- Bartender - for cusomising the menu bar
- CleanShot X - for beautiful screenshots and video clips
- Permute - for converting file types
- BetterZip
